Japanese entertainment company Toho has finished digitally remastering all 30 Godzilla films produced in Japan, with the final batch of classic titles now part of its ongoing Godzilla Theater project.
The Godzilla Theater is a screening program that was launched in 2024 to mark the 70th anniversary of the iconic giant monster franchise. Due to its popularity, the project has continued into 2026, bringing remastered Godzilla films to select Toho cinemas across Japan.

The latest addition to the project includes four titles from the Millennium series: Godzilla vs. Megaguirus, Godzilla, Mothra and King Ghidorah: Giant Monsters All-Out Attack, Godzilla vs. Mechagodzilla, and Godzilla: Tokyo S.O.S. According to AV Watch, these four films will screen for a limited time at select Toho cinemas from May to August. With their inclusion, every domestically-produced Godzilla film has now been remastered in 4K.
The remastered films use 4K Digital Cinema Packages, though the actual resolution shown in cinemas may differ based on each theater’s technical setup. Toho Cinemas Akaike, for example, will be showing its screenings in 2K rather than the full 4K format. The Godzilla Theater has served as a way for both longtime fans and newer audiences to watch the classic films in a modernized format on the big screen.
