Overwatch is once again crossing over with Blizzard’s dark fantasy universe as it officially unveils a new collaboration with Diablo IV, themed around the upcoming Lord of Hatred expansion. The event introduces a fresh wave of hero skins inspired by iconic Diablo classes and characters, continuing a growing tradition of crossover content between the two franchises.
Diablo 4: Lord of Hatred Brings New Skins to Overwatch

The collaboration event, titled Overwatch x Hatred’s Reckoning, will run from April 28 to May 18, 2026. During this limited-time period, players will be able to purchase five new themed skins designed around Diablo 4’s dark fantasy aesthetic.
The newly revealed skins include Mephisto Ramattra, Druid Mauga, Rogue Freja, Paladin Brigitte, and Warlock Lifeweaver. Each design draws inspiration from Diablo IV’s class archetypes and demonic lore, blending Sanctuary’s gothic tone with Overwatch’s futuristic hero roster.

These additions highlight Blizzard’s continued strategy of merging its major intellectual properties into shared promotional events that appeal to fans of both franchises.
Returning Diablo 4 Crossover Cosmetics

In addition to the new skins, Blizzard is also bringing back several cosmetics from the original Diablo IV crossover event. Fan-favorite skins such as Lilith Moira, Inarius Pharah, Imperius Reinhardt, and Gilded Hunter Sombra will return for a limited time.
These older cosmetics will be available individually, in themed bundles, or as part of a larger collection pack, giving players another opportunity to acquire previously released crossover content.
The return of these skins reinforces the ongoing popularity of Diablo-inspired cosmetics within the Overwatch ecosystem, especially during seasonal or expansion-themed events.
Event Challenges and Free Rewards

The crossover event will also reintroduce challenge-based rewards originally featured in the 2023 Diablo collaboration. These challenges are expected to revolve around PvE-style gameplay content similar to the Trials of Sanctuary mode, though Blizzard has not fully confirmed all details.
Players who complete event challenges can earn a new cosmetic item, the Crab with a Knife weapon charm, alongside returning rewards from the previous crossover. This gives both new and returning players incentives to engage with event content beyond premium skins.
Twitch Drops and Additional Rewards

Alongside in-game content, Blizzard is offering additional rewards through Twitch Drops during the Overwatch Season 2 promotional period. Players who watch participating streams will be able to unlock cosmetics such as the Lilith Blade weapon charm and the Wolf Pup charm from the previous Diablo 4 event.
Additional viewing milestones also grant Battle Pass progression boosts and loot boxes, adding further incentives for community engagement during the crossover period.
A Continuing Blizzard Crossover Strategy

The collaboration between Overwatch and Diablo IV reflects Blizzard’s ongoing effort to unify its major franchises through seasonal events and cosmetic-driven crossovers. Previous collaborations have included Diablo-themed skins such as Lilith Moira and Imperius Reinhardt, which remain some of the most popular limited-time cosmetics in the game.
With the arrival of new skins like Mephisto Ramattra and Paladin Brigitte, the Lord of Hatred event continues to expand the visual identity of both universes while giving players new customization options tied to Blizzard’s darker fantasy setting.

As the April 28 launch approaches, fans of both franchises will once again have the chance to bring Sanctuary’s influence into the fast-paced world of Overwatch, blending futuristic combat with demonic power in one of Blizzard’s most visually ambitious crossover events to date.
