Malaysia is about to get two major gaming retail experiences for the first time, as KLCC (Holdings) Sdn Bhd (KLCCH) has officially partnered with The Pokémon Company to bring both a Nintendo Pop-Up Store and a Pokémon Center Pop-Up Store to Ombak KLCC. Both stores will be open from September 12 to the end of December.

The Nintendo Pop-Up Store in Malaysia will carry official merchandise from popular Nintendo franchises, with products sourced from Japan alongside the latest releases. Shoppers can also find exclusive merchandise featuring Mario and friends in colorful artwork designs. Meanwhile, the Pokémon Center Pop-Up Store will stock Pokémon Center Original merchandise, trading cards, plush toys, and the latest releases. Special merchandise marking the franchise’s 30th anniversary will also be available, and a gaming experience booth will be set up in collaboration with Nintendo.

Datuk Sr Mohd. Salem Kailany, Group Chief Executive Officer of KLCC (Holdings) Sdn Bhd, described the KLCC Precinct as more than just a collection of buildings, calling it a dynamic space where people, businesses, culture, and tourism meet. He said the collaboration with The Pokémon Company reflects their approach of using globally recognized brands to create experiences that add value for visitors and contribute to the life of the city.
Ombak KLCC is a new retail mall within the KLCC precinct, which is managed by KLCCH. The company also oversees other well-known properties in the area, including the PETRONAS Twin Towers and Suria KLCC. Further details on official opening dates, venue specifics, and entry guidelines are expected to be announced at a later date.
