Capcom announced during the recent Nintendo Direct that Devil May Cry 5 is heading to the Nintendo Switch 2 as the Devil Hunter Edition, marking the first time the game will be playable on a Nintendo console. The digital version launches on June 23, 2026, with a special introductory discount, while the physical version follows on August 28, 2026.
Devil May Cry 5 is the most recent entry in the long-running series, building on its signature fast-paced, sword-and-gun combat while introducing three playable characters, each with their own distinct fighting style. The story picks up several years after the Order of the Sword incident, when a massive demonic invasion threatens the human world.
Three hunters step up to face it: Nero, a young devil hunter running a mobile handyman business who lost his demonic arm before the events begin and now fights with a new prosthetic weapon provided by his mechanic partner Nico; Dante, the legendary half-human, half-demon son of the demon Sparda and a human woman named Eva; and V, a tattooed, mysterious man who first approached Dante through an information broker to deal with a particular demon threat.
The Devil Hunter Edition bundles all of this together, including extra character costumes, weapon variants, and Vergil as a fully playable character, with no separate purchases needed.

One thing worth noting is that the Shared Single-Play online feature from the original release is not included in this edition. Devil May Cry 5 Devil Hunter Edition gives Switch 2 owners a complete package to jump into one of Capcom’s most celebrated action games, playable at home or on the go.
