Bandai Namco and developer Media.Vision have released a demo for Digimon Story: Time Stranger on both Switch 2 and Switch, available now through the Nintendo eShop.
The demo gives players two things to try out. The first part covers the opening of the main game in full, letting players experience exploration, battles, conversation, and Digivolution. The second part is called Central Town – Adventure Trial, which lets players explore additional areas and dungeons within the Digital World of Iliad. The Central Town mode save data, however, cannot be carried over to the full game.
The “expert” of the Digital World: Iliad is here to teach you everything you need to know before jumping in to Digimon Story Time Stranger on Nintendo Switch 2 / Nintendo Switch on 7/10!

As for save data from the opening chapter portion, it does carry over, though there is one thing worth keeping in mind. Save data transfer is only possible between the same platforms, meaning Switch demo for Digimon Story: Time Stranger saves cannot be transferred to the full game on Switch 2, and vice versa. It is also worth noting that the demo does not contain the graphics update included in the full version, which upgrades the Switch version’s graphics quality when played on a Switch 2 and adds Quality Mode and Performance Mode.
The demo joins an already available version on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC. Digimon Story: Time Stranger is an RPG with monster-taming elements where players join ADAMAS, a secret organization dedicated to investigating and resolving anomalous phenomena.
