Bandai Namco Entertainment has shared the resolution and frame rate targets for Digimon Story: Time Stranger on Nintendo Switch 2 and Nintendo Switch through the game’s official Japanese website.
Switch 2 players will have two modes to choose from. Quality mode supports 4K and HDR when docked, running at up to 30fps. In handheld mode, quality mode drops to 1080p but keeps HDR support, also targeting up to 30fps. It is worth pointing out that Switch 2 in quality mode is currently the only platform listed with HDR support.

Performance mode on Switch 2 targets 1080p and up to 60fps in both docked and handheld configurations, though HDR is not supported in this mode. The original Switch targets 1080p and up to 30fps when docked, and 720p and up to 30fps in handheld mode. There is no performance mode listed for the original Switch.
PS5 and Xbox Series X/S currently have the game running at 30fps. Bandai Namco confirmed that a performance mode is coming to those platforms as well, but resolution details for that mode have not been shared yet. The game is already available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC via Steam. The Nintendo Switch and Switch 2 versions of Digimon Story: Time Stranger will launch on July 10.
We previously called the game a much-needed revival for the franchise, saying it feels alive again for the first time in years. Check out our full Digimon Story: Time Stranger review to see if it is worth your time.
