Where Winds Meet is getting its first major expansion Hexi and it’s launching across PC, PlayStation, and mobile starting March 6. The expansion is split into three chapters rolling out from March to May 2026, kicking off with Chapter One: Jade Gate Pass.
The expansion sits outside the game’s main timeline, placing players in a dream-like retelling of the Tang Dynasty. The storytelling takes a more cinematic approach, putting the spotlight on ordinary people swept up in the flow of history rather than larger-than-life heroes. Chapter One introduces two new movement tricks tailored for desert travel.

Sand Chaser lets players surf across sand dunes, while Cosmic Reversal turns back time to rebuild ruins which is handy for getting past obstacles, finding hidden things, and solving puzzles. Two limited-time game modes, Sand Table Struggle and Heroic Gauntlet, will also be available alongside the usual matchmaking battles.
Jade Gate Pass comes with a new campaign called White-Crown City, where players face off against Guo Xin, described as the last Grand Protector of Anxi. He guards an abandoned border pass that was once a major hub along ancient trade and travel routes. Out in the open world, a roaming boss called The Wandering Ark, a massive ship that moves freely across the desert also makes its debut. Finally, the update adds a new path called Bamboocut Dust, which comes with two martial art styles.

Players can already pre-download the Hexi expansion for Where Winds Meet ahead of the March 6 launch. Chapters Two and Three — Liangzhou and Qinchuan will follow later in the April to May window.
