Ink-style action roguelite Realm of Ink is officially preparing for its full release, with publisher 4Divinity and developers Leap Studio and Maple Leaf Studio announcing that the game will launch on May 26, 2026. The title will arrive on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam, marking its transition out of Early Access after nearly two years of ongoing development.
Originally released in Early Access for PC on September 27, 2024, Realm of Ink has steadily evolved through player feedback and updates, refining its fast-paced combat systems and narrative-driven roguelite structure ahead of its full multiplatform debut. A playable demo is currently available for Xbox Series X|S and PC players.
A Roguelite Written in Ink and Fate

Realm of Ink blends high-speed action with stylized ink-wash visuals inspired by traditional Eastern art. Players take on the role of Red, a warrior pursuing the mysterious Fox Demon, only to uncover a deeper truth — they are trapped within a story that has already been written.
The narrative explores themes of fate, rebellion, and self-determination, positioning each run as part of an evolving manuscript. Death is not treated as failure but as rebirth, allowing players to reshape the story with every attempt. Progression unlocks new combat forms, supernatural abilities, and dynamic “Story Relics” that reorganize themselves between runs, ensuring each playthrough feels distinct.
As players push forward, they encounter mythical beings rooted in Chinese folklore while confronting powerful bosses determined to keep the protagonist bound within the ink-written world.
Fast-Paced Combat and Deep Customization

Combat in Realm of Ink focuses on fluid movement and build experimentation. Players can master nine different combat forms and weapons, each offering unique playstyles and strategic depth. More than 40 elemental Ink Gems can be equipped to create powerful combinations, enabling diverse builds tailored to aggressive, defensive, or hybrid approaches.
The progression system expands further through over 200 unlockable perks, allowing players to continuously refine their abilities and synergies. Companions known as Ink Pets also join battles, evolving into multiple forms depending on the player’s chosen upgrades and combat strategies.
This layered customization aims to deliver a roguelite experience that rewards experimentation while maintaining fast, responsive action.
Exploring an Eastern Fantasy World

Set across four distinct realms inspired by Chinese mythology, Realm of Ink invites players to explore a vibrant world populated by more than 20 mythic creatures. Story encounters, dialogue interactions, and lore discoveries gradually reveal hidden narratives behind the game’s characters and environments, adding emotional context to its action-heavy gameplay.
The artistic direction emphasizes brushstroke aesthetics and atmospheric environments, reinforcing the feeling of traversing a living painting.
BlazBlue: Entropy Effect Collaboration Announced

Alongside the full release announcement, the developers also revealed a crossover collaboration with BlazBlue: Entropy Effect, developed by 91Act. The collaboration introduces Oread, the Stage 4 boss from the game, as a fully playable character in Realm of Ink.
Oread will arrive equipped with a unique Ink Gem, exclusive Ink Pet skins, and new perks designed to complement her combat style, offering players additional ways to experiment with builds and gameplay strategies.
Launching This May Across All Platforms

With its Early Access phase nearing completion, Realm of Ink is positioning itself as a stylish and narrative-driven entry within the roguelite genre. Combining fast-paced combat, evolving storytelling mechanics, and a distinctive ink-inspired visual identity, the game aims to deliver a fresh experience when it launches globally on May 26 for consoles and PC.
Players interested in trying the game ahead of release can download the demo now on Xbox Series X|S and PC platforms.
