South Korean developer NEOWIZ has announced that certain content in their RPG BrownDust2 will be restricted for players in Germany. The company stated that these changes are required to comply with German laws and are necessary to continue operating the game in the country. The restrictions will only affect the German version of the game and will not impact players in other regions.
Starting January 21, several pieces of content will be hidden for German players. This includes five skill cutscenes featuring characters Medical Club Teresse, Nature’s Claw Rou, White Cat Rou, New Hire Seir, and Demon’s Daughter Seir. Additionally, Medical Club Teresse’s Fated Guest Encounters, Fated Guest Affinity Effects, Interaction features, and the Slap Slap Pop minigame will also be unavailable in the region.

NEOWIZ also revealed that four costume illustrations—Pure White Blessing Refithea, Red Riding Hood Rou, Demon’s Daughter Seir, and B-Rank Idol Seir—are currently being reviewed. These costumes are scheduled to be modified by the end of March, though the exact dates and details of the changes have not yet been finalized.
Notably, the content being restricted or reviewed matches the material NEOWIZ had previously planned to redesign across the entire game. However, that earlier decision was cancelled after strong negative feedback from the player community.
In a follow-up statement, BrownDust2 project director Jun-hee Lee explained the company’s new approach. Rather than making changes to the game globally, NEOWIZ will focus on providing region-specific versions when needed. If continuing service without modifications becomes impossible due to local laws or platform rules, the company will “apply country-specific restrictions, suspend service, or provide an adapted build as needed,” Lee stated.

Lee also mentioned that NEOWIZ has been in talks with regulatory authorities in a “specific country” about the content in question. While no additional details were provided at the time, Germany appears to be the first region where BrownDust2 will implement these types of adjustments.
In a separate matter, NEOWIZ is also currently working with Vietnamese authorities after BrownDust2 was removed from Google Play Store in Vietnam. Unlike Germany, Vietnam has not raised concerns about the game’s content. Instead, new Vietnamese regulations require game developers to either partner with a local company or establish a legal presence in the country to continue offering services there.
