Sega and RGG Studio have kicked off the open beta test for Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O. World Stage on Nintendo Switch 2. The beta runs from today at 7 PM PT through February 23 at 6:59 PM PT. Note that a Nintendo Switch Online subscription is needed to participate. According to the developers, the beta is being used to test network servers and check how cross-play performs with the other platforms where the game is already available PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam.
For those unfamiliar, Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O. World Stage is the latest entry in Sega’s long-running 3D fighting series. The Switch 2 version brings rollback netcode and cross-play support, letting players fight against others across different platforms. It also includes a new single-player mode called World Stage, where players take on rivals in a solo campaign to become the best fighter. The game also comes with improved replay features and updated training tools.
The full game arrives on Switch 2 on March 26, 2026. Here’s a breakdown of the pricing:
The standard digital edition is priced at $19.99. If you’re interested in the 30th Anniversary Edition content, the DLC packs from that edition will be sold separately at launch rather than as a bundled package for the digital version.
The physical edition, on the other hand, costs $49.99 and includes the same content as the 30th Anniversary Edition. It also comes with a double-sided poster — one side showing the Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O. World Stage cover art, and the other featuring artwork from the original Virtua Fighter.
Sega notes that the base game and the bundle with additional content are sold separately, so buyers should be careful to avoid making duplicate purchases.
