Publisher Kwalee and developer Flyos have announced Vampire: The Masquerade — ETERNAL WHISPERS, a narrative-driven CRPG coming to PC via Steam. No release date has been given yet.
The game is set in the World of Darkness universe and puts players in the role of Gabe, a vampire who wakes up from decades of sleep with broken memories and a hidden past. Guided by a Thin-Blood named Sam, what starts as tracking down a rogue ghoul turns into a much bigger conspiracy tied to the Temple of Eternal Whispers, a massive underground cathedral built around a forbidden religion. The story takes place in a dark version of modern Montreal, where the Sabbat is gone and new factions now control the city from the shadows.
Flyos co-founder and creative director Gary Paitre, who has been playing the Vampire: The Masquerade tabletop RPG for over 25 years, described the game as sitting “at the crossroads of classic role-playing games and modern narrative experiences such as Disco Elysium,” with a focus on personal horror, exploration, and meaningful choices.
One thing that stands out about ETERNAL WHISPERS is that it has no traditional combat. Instead, players shape the story through dialogue, decisions, alliances, and betrayals. Violence and manipulation are still options, but they play out through choices rather than combat systems. The game also uses a fail-forward design, meaning that failures like botched negotiations or missed clues do not stop the story but instead change how it unfolds and open up new consequences.

Players can customize their character’s appearance and attributes at the start and continue building their vampire through the choices they make throughout the game. There is also a Final Death mode that adds permanent consequences for those who want a harder experience.
The game draws from Flyos’s earlier work on Vampire: The Masquerade — CHAPTERS, a narrative board game based on the same license. ETERNAL WHISPERS expands on that foundation with a visual style inspired by gothic architecture, dark illustration, and urban decay set against hidden underground spaces beneath Montreal. ETERNAL WHISPERS is currently without a release window, but interested players can wishlist it on Steam.
