Coffee Stain Publishing and Iron Gate Studio confirmed that Viking survival hit Valheim will arrive on PlayStation 5 in 2026. The game is currently available in Early Access for PC, Xbox Series, and Xbox One, where it has already built a massive following.
A Viking Adventure Expands to New Shores
Valheim first launched in Early Access for PC on February 2, 2021. It later expanded to Xbox Series and Xbox One on March 14, 2023. Now, it will finally make its way to Sony’s console, giving PlayStation fans their first chance to step into the Viking realm.

“We’re thrilled for Valheim to soon reach even more players with the upcoming launch on PlayStation,” said Iron Gate Studio co-founder Henrik Tornqvist. He added that the team looks forward to hearing new stories as players dive into their adventures.
Survive, Build, and Conquer in the Tenth Realm
Valheim is a survival and exploration game for one to ten players. The world is procedurally generated, filled with dense forests, wide oceans, and dangerous bosses. Players gather resources, craft weapons, and construct longhouses while carving out their Viking legacy.

Created by Sweden-based indie team Iron Gate and published by Coffee Stain Publishing, Valheim quickly became a phenomenon. It holds a 94% “Very Positive” rating on Steam with over 477,000 reviews and has sold more than 12 million copies.
Evolving Through Major Updates
Valheim has continued to grow with several free updates. Hearth & Home expanded survival and building features, while Mistlands introduced a fog-shrouded biome with new enemies and magic. Ashlands added fiery landscapes and deadly threats. The most recent Call to Arms update revamped combat, delivering fresh weapons, armor, and enemies.

With its PlayStation 5 release, Valheim will soon welcome an even larger community of Viking warriors into its tenth realm. For more updates on the game, follow their official X, YouTube and Instagram.
