Guilty Gear Strive Will Be Getting New Moves And Mechanics In Season 3

Arc System Works has confirmed that the upcoming Season 3 update for Guilty Gear Strive will include new moves and mechanics for the entire cast.

In the latest edition of their Developer’s Backyard updates, they explained that the game’s next season would be more than just new characters.

“While me must be somewhat tight-lipped at the moment, we are planning multiple updates that should bring a fresh new experience even for players dedicated to playing one main character”, the statement reads.

They explained that the Season 3 changes for Guilty Gear Strive would of course include balance changes for the entire cast, but also said that they would shake things up with new battle mechanics as well as new special moves for every character.

Based on the phrasing though, don’t expect all the changes to drop at once- it’s more likely that the mechanic changes would be coming via a mid season patch.

Aside from that, these changes would also include fixes to the game’s lobby system.

This weekend is the start of EVO 2023- one of the year’s biggest fighting game event, where Guilty Gear Strive is one of the main stage events alongside titles like Street Fighter 6, Tekken 7 as well as Ultimate Marvel Vs Capcom 3.

Last year’s event saw the sudden announcement of Bridget to kick off the game’s second season, where cross play was also announced for a future update.
