Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 is giving players a chance to jump into its story mode before the game fully launches. Starting October 16, 2026, anyone who digitally pre-orders or pre-purchases the game will get early access to the Campaign, ahead of its full release. The early access benefit covers both the Standard Digital Edition and the Vault Edition of the game. It is available across Xbox Series X|S, Xbox on PC, PlayStation 5, Battle.net, Steam, and Nintendo Switch 2. It is worth noting that Modern Warfare 4 will be available for pre-order on Nintendo Switch 2 later this year.
In the Campaign, players take on the role of Private Park, a young South Korean soldier experiencing live combat for the first time. What starts as a routine mission quickly falls apart when North Korea launches a full-scale invasion, pushing Park and his squad into a desperate fight through collapsing cities and intense counteroffensives.

Running alongside Park’s story is Captain Price, now operating outside the military system he once served. A personal hunt for revenge leads Price toward a weapon capable of shifting the global balance of power, pulling him into a much larger conflict and a series of consequences he cannot walk away from. The Campaign is described as covering a wide range of combat scenarios, from large-scale battles and covert operations to combined-arms warfare and cinematic set pieces, all set across a war that extends well beyond a single front line.
Modern Warfare 4 is being developed by Infinity Ward and will be available globally on October 23. The PC version is being handled by Infinity Ward in partnership with Beenox across Battle.net, Xbox on PC, and Steam, while the Nintendo Switch 2 version is being developed in partnership with Digital Legends.
