SpiralAI, Koei Tecmo, and Gust have announced that a new mobile game called RyzaChat: AI Ryza and Your One-of-a-Kind Summer Story will launch in Japan on August 18, 2026. The game will be available on both iOS and Android. According to Famitsu, he title builds on the Atelier Ryza series but centers on a free-scenario AI chat system. Instead of following a fixed script, players talk directly with Ryza, and those conversations guide what happens next, including exploration, gathering materials, item synthesis, and combat.
To power this, the developers combined SpiralAI’s own SpiralLLM language model and voice synthesis technology with the existing Atelier Ryza setting. The AI dialogue was trained using the original game’s scenarios and official setting materials, so responses stay tied to the established world and characters.

On the visual side, all artwork was made by human artists working under the supervision of series illustrator Toridamono. No image or video generation AI was used for any of the game’s visuals. Ryza’s voice also comes from new recordings by Yuri Noguchi, the character’s original voice actress, rather than synthetic voice generation alone.
The developers also addressed how player data and revenue will be handled. Conversations between players and the AI will not be used to further train the AI models. In addition, royalties from the game will be shared with the creators tied to the original property, including the illustrator, voice actors, and the IP holder. With the release date set for August 18, players in Japan will soon be able to try out this AI-driven take on the Atelier Ryza series and see how the chat-based approach shapes their own version of Ryza’s story.
