Marvelous has suggested that its subsidiary Honey ∞ Parade Games, the studio behind the Senran Kagura franchise, could be moving back into console game development. The comment came during the publisher’s financial briefing for the first quarter of the fiscal year ending March 31, 2027.
Honey ∞ Parade Games is known for its bishojo titles, with Senran Kagura being its most recognized series. Since around 2020, the studio has mostly worked on free-to-play games, including Dolphin Wave and the now-discontinued Shinobi Master Senran Kagura: New Link. The studio also has Shinovi Nexus: Senran Kagura in the works, a live-service entry in the franchise set to release in Japan later in 2026 for iOS, Android, and PC.

During the briefing, Marvelous president and CEO Shinichi Terui discussed the company’s future plans for its subsidiaries. He said that going forward, Marvelous is considering expanding its focus beyond online games to include the consumer game business, referring to full-priced console and PC titles. This would mark a shift for Honey ∞ Parade Games, which has leaned heavily into free-to-play releases in recent years.
Terui also touched on the studio’s financial standing, noting that Dolphin Wave has performed steadily and that licensing royalties from Shinobi Master Senran Kagura: New Link have contributed to revenue. No specific console projects or release timelines have been announced. For now, Marvelous’s remarks offer an early indication of the direction the company may take with Honey ∞ Parade Games, as fans who have been waiting for a new full-priced entry in the series watch for further updates.
