SpiralAI has teamed up with Koei Tecmo and Gust to announce RyzaChat, a new mobile RPG built around the character Ryza from Atelier Ryza: Ever Darkness & the Secret Hideout. The game is set to launch in Japan for iOS and Android later this month, and pre-registration is open now.
The core idea behind RyzaChat is a free-scenario AI chat system, meaning players talk directly with Ryza to shape how the story unfolds. These conversations aren’t just for flavor text either, as they’re used to guide exploration, gathering, item synthesis, combat, and other gameplay systems.
The game is split into two main modes. RPG Mode moves the main story forward through quests and exploration, while Chat Mode lets players simply hang out and talk with Ryza without pushing the plot ahead. During these chats, players can plan their next move, gather materials, craft items, manage a shop, or just talk casually, with the AI responding based on what the player says.

To power this, the game runs on SpiralAI’s own SpiralLLM language model along with its voice synthesis tech, layered on top of the existing Atelier Ryza world. The developers have been clear that all artwork in the game was made by human artists, working under the supervision of series illustrator Toridamono, with no AI image or video generation involved.
Ryza’s voice comes from new recordings by Yuri Noguchi, the actress who has voiced the character since the original game. The AI dialogue system itself was trained using the original game’s scripts and official setting materials, so Ryza’s responses stay grounded in her established character.
On the privacy and business side, SpiralAI says player conversations won’t be used to further train the AI. Royalties from the game will also be shared with the people and companies behind the original property, including the illustrator, voice actors, and the IP holder.
