Pokémon Asia has announced a new initiative called Pokémon Game On!, aimed at making Pokémon Battles more fun and easier to get into for players looking for a new challenge. Pokémon Game On! centers across seven regions, including Hong Kong, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan, and Thailand.
The initiative centers on the Pokémon Trading Card Game (TCG) and other Pokémon activities, with a goal of helping players of every skill level find events that suit them. As part of this effort, a Pokémon TCG event map has been created so beginners, casual players, and competitive players can more easily find tournaments that fit their experience, along with short explanations of what each event involves. The map can be found on regional websites, including those for Malaysia, the Philippines, and Singapore.
A promotional video for Pokémon Game On! has also been released online. Going forward, official Pokémon events and competitions, starting with the 2026-27 Pokémon Asia Championship Series, will carry the Game On! branding, including posters, decorations, and special prizes. Promo cards tied to the initiative will begin distribution on September 1 at participating Pokémon Trading Card Game Gyms, while supplies last. Organizers also noted that “Game On!” will now be used as the phrase to signal the start of a match.
The announcement comes as the 2026-27 Pokémon Asia Championship Series officially kicks off. The series begins on September 1, 2026, and will run across the same seven regions: Hong Kong, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan, and Thailand. The series serves as a competitive circuit that determines which players will represent their region at the Pokémon World Championships, held once a year.
The championship series includes four tournament types of increasing scale: Great Ball League, Ultra Ball League, Premier Ball League, and Master Ball League. Each tournament type is designed with a different kind of player in mind, ranging from those just starting out to more experienced competitors. Registration for the Premier Ball League has now opened alongside this announcement.
