Rocketbirds: Hardboiled Chicken , a PS3 game about overthrowing evil Penguins on the PS3, is getting a physical re-release on the PS4.
The re-release will be handled by Limited Run Games, who specialize in limited run physical re-releases for games. While Rocketbirds will be available via physical disc through this method, it’s also available digitally on the PS4. The physical version will be available from February 26th via Limited Run’s website.
The PS4 port of the game was handled by General Arcade, who specializes in ports. They were behind the porting of another regional title, Cat Quest II, as well as another cult classic, Metal Wolf Chaos XD. On top of that, they also worked on the console port of Control.
Getting a physical release is almost like a status symbol among indie games, as Limited Run has produced physical editions for games like Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon 2 as well as cult classics like Scott Pilgrim Vs The World.
Rocketbirds: Hardboiled Chicken was developed by Ratloop Asia, the Asian branch of Ratloop based in Singapore. The game originally started as a browser-based title, but gained enough popularity to get it on the PS3 and PC, where it would later receive OSX and Linux ports as well. It also went on to get a sequel in Rocketbirds 2: Evolution.
