Capcom has updated the official product page for Onimusha: Way of the Sword with a full breakdown of how the game will run on each platform, covering output resolutions, frame rates, and graphics modes ahead of the game’s release.
On PS5 and Xbox Series X, players can choose between two graphics settings. Prioritize Performance targets 60 fps at an output resolution of 3840×2160, using upscaling to reach that resolution. Prioritize Quality also runs at 3840×2160, but operates at a variable 30 to 40 fps instead. Capcom notes that even in Performance mode, frame rates can dip during certain scenes.
Xbox Series S gets the same two modes but at a lower resolution. Performance mode on Series S runs at 1920×1080 targeting 60 fps, while Quality mode stays at 1080p and runs between 30 and 50 fps. Switch 2 works a little differently. In TV Mode, the game outputs at 1920×1080 and targets 30 fps. In Handheld Mode, the resolution drops to 1600×900 at the same 30 fps target. Both modes use upscaling, and players will have the option to turn on a variable frame rate that can go up to 40 fps.

For PC, the recommended specs target 60 fps at 1080p on the Medium graphics preset with upscaling enabled. Here is what Capcom lists:
OS: Windows 11
Processor: Intel Core i5-10400 or AMD Ryzen 5 3600
Memory: 16 GB RAM
Graphics: GeForce RTX 2060 Super (8 GB) or Radeon RX 6600 (8 GB)
VRAM: 8 GB
DirectX: Version 12
Storage: 50 GB SSD (an SSD is required, not optional)
Capcom also flags that PC frame rates can drop during periods of heavy load, so actual performance will vary depending on your hardware and settings.

Onimusha: Way of the Sword is a new entry in Capcom’s long-running action series, set during the Edo period with legendary swordsman Miyamoto Musashi as the new protagonist. Armed with the Oni Gauntlet, Musashi battles demonic beings called Gemma, fiends from the lowest depths of Hell that take form as Malice. The Oni Gauntlet is a returning core mechanic that lets players absorb enemy souls during combat to restore health and pull off powerful special moves. The combat system includes one-on-one duels, counterattacks, and environmental interactions.
Onimusha: Way of the Sword launches on September 25, 2026 for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC via Steam. A demo is currently available on PS5, Xbox, and Steam, with the Switch 2 demo coming at a later date.
