SEGA has officially announced Crazy Taxi: World Tour, a new entry in the long-running arcade series. The game was revealed at the Xbox Games Showcase and is set to launch in 2027 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC.
The announcement follows an initial tease back in December 2023, when SEGA hinted that several of its classic franchises were getting new games, including Golden Axe, Jet Set Radio, Shinobi, and Streets of Rage alongside Crazy Taxi. Ahead of the showcase, the Crazy Taxi social media account had also shared a short teaser video in May showing a taxi rooflight flickering, which turned out to be part of the larger reveal.

In Crazy Taxi: World Tour, players follow series regular Axel as he travels around the world chasing down masked villains who stole his taxi. The core gameplay still appears to follow the original Crazy Taxi formula, where players pick up passengers, drive at speed, perform stunts, and earn money before the timer runs out. The reveal trailer showed glimpses of what to expect, including sharks leaping out of the ocean and passengers carrying large stacks of pizza boxes. At least part of the game appears to be set in a San Francisco-style city.
No specific release date beyond the 2027 window has been given, and no gameplay footage or further details have been shared at this time.
