Genshin Impact Snezhnaya Region Confirmed for August 12 Release

HoYoverse has officially confirmed that the next major region for Genshin Impact, Snezhnaya, will launch on August 12. The announcement was made during a special “Behind the Scenes” livestream that offered players an early look at the future of the game, including story developments, gameplay changes, and visual upgrades.

As one of the most anticipated expansions since the game’s release, Snezhnaya marks a major turning point for the long-running action role-playing game. Fans have waited years to explore the homeland of the Fatui and uncover the truth behind the mysterious Tsaritsa.

Snezhnaya Marks a Huge Story Milestone

In Genshin Impact, Snezhnaya is known throughout Teyvat as the Nation of Cryo, ruled by the Tsaritsa. For years, the region has been central to Genshin Impact’s overarching narrative, especially through the actions of the Fatui Harbingers and the collection of the six Gnoses.

According to the development team, the arrival of Snezhnaya will bring the culmination of plot threads that began when the game first launched. Players can expect long-awaited answers surrounding the Tsaritsa’s motives, the future of Teyvat, and the fate of the divine powers tied to the Gnoses.
