The upcoming anime adaptation of Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice finally has a premiere window. Kadokawa Corporation, Crunchyroll, Qzil.la, and ARCH have announced that Sekiro: No Defeat will debut in 2026, over a year after the project was first revealed in August 2025. The anime will stream exclusively on Crunchyroll for most of the world. However, viewers in Japan, China, Korea, Russia, and Belarus are excluded from the streaming deal. For Japan in particular, Sekiro: No Defeat will instead receive a nationwide theatrical release.

Several voice actors from the original game will be reprising their roles for the anime. Previously confirmed cast members include Daisuke Namikawa as Wolf, Miyuki Satou as Kuro the Divine Heir, and Kenjiro Tsuda as Genichiro Ashina. The latest announcement adds five more returning performers to that list:
- Jin Urayama as the Sculptor
- Shizuka Itoh as Emma
- Akimitsu Takase as Hanbei
- Takaya Hashi as Owl
- Tetsuo Kanao as Isshin Ashina
A new trailer also revealed the anime’s theme song: “Blu” by the late composer Ryuichi Sakamoto. The track originally appeared on his 2015 album The Best of ‘Playing the Orchestra 2014.’
Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice is a 2019 action-adventure game developed by FromSoftware. Players control Wolf, a shinobi who sets out to rescue his lord and gets caught in a conflict over the fate of Ashina. The game is set in a fictionalized Japan during the Sengoku period and draws heavily from Buddhist mythology and philosophy. Sekiro: No Defeat does not yet have a specific premiere date beyond the 2026 window.
