Square Enix plans to make Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 3 a more focused and concise experience. Co-director Naoki Hamaguchi said the team aims to tighten the story pacing after hearing feedback about the length of the first two games.
Aiming for Better Story Flow

In an interview, Hamaguchi addressed the pacing issues in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth. He explained that while the team believed the story sections were the right length, they understood that modern players have limited time for games.
“Nowadays, players just have too much to do and too much to play,” Hamaguchi said. “As we work on the trilogy’s conclusion, we’re finding a balance in how story arcs unfold so the game feels more concise.”
Hamaguchi emphasized that the team wants to maintain emotional impact while keeping gameplay and storytelling tightly paced.
Development Moving Full Speed Ahead

Production on Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 3 began shortly after Rebirth launched in 2024. Hamaguchi confirmed that Square Enix is pushing for a high-quality finale that delivers a satisfying conclusion to Cloud’s journey. The next entry will also release on multiple platforms, giving more fans the chance to experience the story’s ending.
Expanding to New Platforms

Before the trilogy ends, Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade will launch on Nintendo Switch 2 and Xbox Series X|S early next year. Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth will follow at a later date. PlayStation 5 owners can also preorder the Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade & Rebirth Twin Pack, which arrives on December 4.
