Developer Modoyo has announced its first worldwide playtest for Heart Electric, a team-based hero shooter built on Unreal Engine 5 and SnapNet technology. The playtest runs from October 24 through October 26 on PC. Heart Electric features four teams of three players competing for energy resources in fast-paced matches. The game’s core feature is the Magnetic Flux system, which lets players control metal objects, move quickly through maps, and create electromagnetic effects during combat.
Based on feedback from earlier testing sessions, Modoyo has updated the Magnetic Flux to work while players are airborne. This change opens up more options for combining magnetic movement with other gameplay mechanics.
“Heart Electric is a true indie passion project designed by players and shaped by our community,” said Niklas “Figge” Fegraeus, Creative Director of Modoyo.
“We’re inviting hero shooter fans worldwide to join us and experience something unique and innovative.”

The game’s format centers on energy management. Teams must drain their opponents’ energy reserves while protecting their own. Players can use Hearts to steal energy from enemy bases, but doing so comes with risks like traps and ambushes. When a team runs out of energy from repeated respawns, they’re eliminated. The final two teams face off as the playable area shrinks for a sudden-death finale.
During the three-day playtest, players will get access to:
- Full Magnetic Flux mechanics across three different arenas
- Multiple heroes, each with their own abilities
- Various primary weapons and customizable loadouts
- Team-focused gameplay in a new competitive format
- Global leaderboards for tracking performance

Heart Electric is the first game from Stockholm-based studio Modoyo, led by industry veteran Figge. Players interested in joining the global playtest can sign up through the game’s Steam page. More information is available on Heart Electric’s social media channels including X, Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, and Discord.
