Sony Interactive Entertainment has officially revealed the DualSense Wireless Controller – Icon Blue Special Edition, a stylish new addition to the PlayStation 5 lineup. The controller celebrates the console’s signature blue tones and long-standing heritage.

It will be available on October 20 in the United States and Canada, followed by October 28 in Mexico and Chile. Fans can find it at Walmart stores and on Walmart’s official website for $84.99 USD, $109.99 CAD, $1,899 MXN, or $93,490 CLP (RM475).

The Icon Blue Special Edition reflects PlayStation’s history through layered shades of blue and a glossy finish. Its touch pad features a subtle pattern of PlayStation’s iconic shapes, blending nostalgia with modern design. Isabelle Tomatis, Vice President of Global Marketing at Sony Interactive Entertainment, explained that the controller honors the brand’s roots while highlighting its creative evolution.

Moreover, Leo Cardoso from PlayStation’s Color, Material, and Finish design team shared the deeper inspiration behind it. “From the moment the console powers on and the DualSense controller lights up, that signature blue glow signals the start of something special,” he said. “It’s the spark that draws you into new worlds and immersive gameplay.

Inspired by PlayStation’s iconic shades of blue, this design captures the feeling of anticipation and wonder every time you pick up the controller. As a nod to our origins, we added Katakana characters on the back that spell our name the Japanese way: Pureisutēshon.”

This new controller arrives just weeks after PlayStation celebrated its 30th anniversary in the United States. That milestone marked Sony’s historic entry into the global console market. Although the anniversary has passed, the celebration continues through new releases like this one.
