Apple has officially announced the iPhone 17 Air, the slimmest iPhone ever at just 5.6mm. The device launches in Malaysia on September 19, with pre-orders starting September 12. Prices begin at RM4,999.
A Slim and Striking New Design
The iPhone 17 Air redefines Apple’s design approach, combining elegance and strength in a titanium frame. Weighing only 165g and measuring 5.6mm thick, it is the thinnest iPhone yet. Despite its slim build, the device boasts a 6.5-inch ProMotion display with brightness up to 3,000 nits. Its horizontal rear camera layout gives it a futuristic aesthetic, setting it apart from previous models.
Advanced Camera System
Apple has equipped the iPhone 17 Air with powerful new cameras. On the front, an 18MP Centre Stage sensor offers wider framing, flexible zoom, and ultra-stabilised 4K HDR video recording. It also supports Dual Capture, allowing both front and rear cameras to record simultaneously.
On the rear, the 48MP Fusion Main Camera delivers high-resolution detail and low-light performance. With built-in 2x Telephoto zoom and features like next-generation Portraits, Night Mode, and Photographic Styles, users can capture professional-grade photos and videos effortlessly.

The iPhone 17 Air will be available in Sky Blue, Light Gold, Cloud White, and Space Black. Malaysian pricing starts at RM4,999 for 256GB, RM5,999 for 512GB, and RM6,999 for 1TB. Customers can also take advantage of Apple’s Trade In program, receiving up to RM4,400 in credits depending on their current device.
