Spaceship combat game Wildgate will blast off on July 22 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC through Steam, publisher Dreamhaven and developer Moonshot Games announced during Summer Game Fest 2025. The crew-based first-person shooter will cost $29.99 at launch. Players won’t have to wait until July to get their hands on the game. A cross-platform open beta test will run from June 9 to 16, giving gamers a chance to try out the space-faring action before launch.

The game has already built up a strong following through community preview tests. Game director Dustin Browder said over 100,000 unique players joined the last preview event. “We’ve expanded and fine-tuned several systems in Wildgate based on feedback from the incredible number of players,” Browder explained. The team is now focused on delivering the best possible experience for the July launch.
Dreamhaven CEO Mike Morhaime highlighted what makes Wildgate special. “At its heart, Wildgate is about forging powerful memories through epic spaceship battles, intense firefights, and the joy of shared adventure,” he said. The game targets players who enjoy teamwork and connection, aiming to make each match feel memorable through shared experiences.
Wildgate drops players into high-stakes spaceship battles mixed with first-person shooting action. Teams of prospectors search for the mysterious Artifact while dealing with rival crews, managing ship resources, and exploring a dangerous region called the Reach.
The game features procedurally-generated maps that change with every match, ensuring no two games play the same. Players can choose from different prospector characters, each with unique abilities and tools. Ship management plays a key role – crews must keep their vessels stocked with ice, fuel, and ammo to survive.
