Wild Born is an upcoming Monster Hunter-like from ROCKSQUARE and Smilegate subsidiary, Smilegate STOVE. An official trailer actually released 10 March 2022, though it getting traction is relatively recent. Watch the trailer below:

Pre-registrations are open through the Wild Born portal here, which will ask you for a valid Korean phone number. There are pre-registration milestone rewards that include upgrade materials, equipment and a SR rarity character. You can roughly understand it’s dubbing itself a so-called “overwhelming mobile hunting RPG”, where up to 4 players can do co-op for real time multiplayer. Curiously, the Youtube algorithm has tagged the trailer with the machine-translated title of Wild Born Rebirth, which leads you to a handful of videos up to 9 months old. It’s got the same logo too.

In any case, the game is supposed to be coming out imminently in South Korea, with no indication of going overseas as of yet. There appears to be at least six areas at launch, each biome having its own creatures to hunt. You’ll be able to choose from seven weapon types, and complement your gameplay with a companion character who can assist you in combat or gather things for you.

It might be worth keeping an eye out to see how well the gameplay is executed on a mobile device.
