The previously announced The Strongest Sage with the Weakest Crest mobile game has gotten its release date. As usual, this only applies to Japan, but you can always give the game a shot if you’re able to get it. From screenshots, it looks like a pretty simple-to-grasp 2D turn-based battle game.

The release date for The Strongest Sage with the Weakest Crest: The Ultimate Reincarnation is set for 16 March 2022, available on your respective iOS and Android mobile storefronts. The official Twitter states that the servers will go online 13:00 JST, but honestly you can probably reasonably expect some kind of launch issues as this kind of thing happens a lot.

The anime began airing January 2022, adapted from a light novel first published in December 2016. It tells a story of an incredibly skilled sage who possesses a “Mark” considered not suited for combat. “Marks” in this world are symbols that categorize one’s aptitude for magic, with the sage deciding to reincarnate thousands of years in the future. On getting reborn as Mathias Hildesheimr, the sage gets the close-combat mark he wants, but the world’s knowledge of magic and swordsmanship has deteriorated that basic magic is practically unknown and no good equipment can be found, AND his mark is also now considered “the worst”.
