Konami Digital Entertainment (KONAMI) has announced Character Deck Duel, a brand new PvP mode coming to Yu-Gi-Oh! DUEL LINKS. The mode lets players go head-to-head using specially built Character Decks, each one designed to reflect the fighting style of a specific character from the Yu-Gi-Oh! anime series.

Character Deck Duel is a new way to play that gives each duelist a pre-built deck tied to a specific character. These decks come with fixed cards and Skills that are chosen to match how that character duels in the show. The mode is available for both PvP and PvE, so players can use their Character Decks against other players or against the game itself.

For anyone new to a particular character, Character Decks also serve as a hands-on guide to understanding that character’s signature playstyle.

Playing in Character Deck Duel lets players earn Respect Orbs, a special reward currency tied to performance. These orbs can be taken to the Trader and exchanged for cards and other items.

Respect Orbs can also be traded in for Grade Stars, which raise the Grade level of a Character Deck. As a deck’s Grade goes up, players unlock the ability to swap out cards up to a maximum of five cards total depending on the deck’s current Grade. This gives players some room to put their own spin on a character’s deck over time.

A total of nine characters will each get their own exclusive Character Deck at launch:

• Joey Wheeler (DM)
• Jaden Yuki
• Zane Truesdale
• Yusei Fudo
• Jack Atlas
• Yuma & Astral
• Reginald “Shark” Kastle

All nine Character Decks are free to obtain. Each one is tied to a lifetime mission that completes automatically when a player acquires the matching character. No extra purchases needed — just unlock the character and the deck is yours.
