SEGA and Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio have announced the release schedule for the demo of Yakuza Kiwami 3 & Dark Ties, giving players an early look at the upcoming two-in-one action adventure title. The demo will first become available on PC via Steam on January 22. Console players will gain access later the same day. SEGA has also confirmed that save data from the demo will not carry over to the full release.
A Dual Experience in One Demo

The free demo allows players to sample both games included in Yakuza Kiwami 3 & Dark Ties, offering a clear look at how each experience differs in tone, setting, and combat style. Rather than focusing on a single slice of content, the demo highlights the contrasting protagonists and locations that define the package. This approach gives players a broader understanding of what the full release aims to deliver.
Returning to Okinawa in Yakuza Kiwami 3
In Yakuza Kiwami 3, players step back into the role of Kazuma Kiryu and explore Ryukyu, Okinawa. The demo showcases Kiryu’s combat versatility, allowing players to switch dynamically between the Dragon of Dojima: Kiwami style and the more weapon-focused Ryukyu style. Beyond combat, the demo includes a selection of side activities that the series is known for, such as karaoke, substories, and outfit customization. These elements help reinforce the balance between intense brawling and everyday distractions that defines the Yakuza experience.
A New Perspective with Dark Ties
Dark Ties shifts the spotlight to Yoshitaka Mine and offers a glimpse into an all-new storyline set in Kamurocho, Tokyo. The demo lets players explore the city while engaging in various side experiences, but its main focus lies in Mine’s distinct shoot-boxing combat style. This faster, more stylish approach to fighting sets him apart from Kiryu and provides a fresh feel within the familiar Yakuza framework.
Full Release Coming in February
Yakuza Kiwami 3 & Dark Ties is scheduled to launch on February 12 for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC via Steam. With the demo offering playable sections from both games, players have an opportunity to sample the collection ahead of its release and decide which storyline and combat style resonates most before the full experience arrives.
