Seven months after its release, Crimson Desert is getting its first major DLC, Charting the Unknown, on October 15, 2026. Pearl Abyss revealed the expansion during PlayStation’s recent State of Play, where they showcased Kliff, Oongka, and Damiane in new areas beyond Pywell, including an underwater section.
The trailer also set up new storylines that involve political conflicts, an incoming sinister threat, and an adventure that challenges time itself. Perhaps the biggest reveal was the ancient mysteries beneath the ocean, which can be unraveled through maritime exploration.
In the expansion, players will get their own vessel that will allow them to go on oceanic excursions and discover uncharted islands in the process. The developers promise that these maritime adventures will lead to underwater ruins, treasures, and other secrets as well.

Charting the Unknown’s reveal trailer also saw Kliff dive beneath the waves and encounter a massive mechanical enemy, teasing underwater combat.
We also got a glimpse of Crimson Desert’s new expanded housing and life simulation elements, with gameplay showcasing house construction and customizations. The different facilities that the players will put in their property can also be rented and managed to generate income and build strong relationships with Pywel’s locals.

Crimson Desert: Charting the Unknown will be available on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store at $24.99. The game also offers a pre-order bonus in the form of exclusive diving outfits for Kliff, Oongka, and Damiane.
