Microsoft has announced another worldwide price increase for its Xbox Series X and Series S consoles, set to take effect on August 1, 2026. This marks the third time the company has raised Xbox hardware prices, following a global increase in May 2025 and a US-only adjustment in October of that same year.
The price of Xbox consoles will go up by $100 for 512GB models and $150 for 1TB models. The 2TB model is also being discontinued.
| Product | Old Price | New Price | Increase |
| Xbox Series S 512GB | $399.99 | $499.99 | +$100 |
| Xbox Series S 1TB | $449.99 | $599.99 | +$150 |
| Xbox Series X Digital | $599.99 | $749.99 | +$150 |
| Xbox Series X | $649.99 | $799.99 | +$150 |
| Xbox Series X 2TB Galaxy Black | $799.99 | Discontinued | — |
In its official announcement, Microsoft pointed to rising component costs as the main reason behind the decision. “Last October, we increased Xbox console price by $20 to $70 in the US. We hoped another price increase would not be necessary, and we have spent the last several months working with suppliers on options,” the company said. “Unfortunately, console storage and memory prices have increased by more than 2.5x and we expect another doubling by the fall of 2027.”

Alongside the price announcement, Xbox shared several programs aimed at keeping the consoles within reach for more players. A new Buy Now, Pay Later option will let players break up the purchase of a console into short-term, interest-free installments when buying through Microsoft Stores, while players purchasing through Amazon can take advantage of 0% APR financing for up to 12 months. Microsoft is also working with retail partners to make previously played consoles available at lower prices, and players will be able to trade in their old consoles for cash or store credit. Certified refurbished Xbox consoles are available through Microsoft Stores at up to $100 off the standard retail price.
