Rockstar Games has responded to growing frustration from fans over the physical edition of GTA VI not including a disc in the box. According to a support email the publisher sent to customers who reached out with questions, a physical copy of the game will be made available in the months after launch. The email reads: “Please note that the current pre-order is indeed just for a digital-only update; you will be able to acquire a physical copy during the following months.”
It is worth noting that the support email may be auto-generated rather than a handcrafted response. The wording is also a bit unclear. It does not specify “disc” directly, referring to it instead as a “physical copy,” and it does not make it obvious whether the release would come before or after the game’s November 19 launch date.

Adding to the conversation, Polish gaming outlet PPE.pl has reported that the GTA VI disc version is set to arrive in December 2026. According to the outlet, this information comes from an insider known as Graczdari, who was actually the first person to report back in March 2026 that GTA 6 would launch without a physical disc. At the time, the claim was largely dismissed, but it turned out to be accurate once Rockstar confirmed the disc-less launch edition.
The outlet describes the planned physical release as a standard boxed version with a disc containing the game data, without requiring players to link a key or account on PlayStation or Xbox. That said, the insider does have a mixed track record overall, and Rockstar has yet to make any formal public statement about a disc release on their official channels.
