Xbox has revealed its playable lineup for Summer Game Fest: Play Days 2026, an invite-only media and creator event held from June 6 to June 8, 2026 (MYT) in Los Angeles. The event follows the Summer Game Fest Live Kickoff on June 5, 2026 (MYT). At Play Days, attendees will get hands-on time with upcoming Xbox Game Studios titles and partner games.
This year’s lineup spans multiple regions, including the United States, China, Poland, South Korea, and Australia. In addition, the selection covers a wide range of genres. It includes co-op survival, creature-collection, horror, roguelikes, and experimental indie projects.
Grounded 2 Leads Xbox First-Party Showcasing

Xbox Game Studios highlights Grounded 2, developed by Obsidian Entertainment with Eidos Montreal. The demo features a four-player co-op battle against the new King Dozer lizard boss.
Moreover, the developers continue to build the game with community feedback in mind. For example, rideable Buggies entered the game after strong player demand. As a result, traversal and combat now feel more dynamic in the expanded backyard world.
Aniimo Expands Creature-Collecting Gameplay

Meanwhile, Aniimo from Pawprint Studio introduces an open-world creature-catching experience set in the world of Idyll. Players explore as Pathfinders or merge with creatures through a system called “twining”.
In addition, this mechanic changes both exploration and combat. Players can switch perspectives and abilities depending on the Aniimo they bond with. Therefore, exploration feels more flexible and reactive to the world.
Horror and Roguelike Ideas Take Center Stage

Several indie titles bring strong experimental concepts. For instance, Don’t Fret turns players into a sentient guitar trapped in a distorted music school. It mixes survival horror with music-based puzzles and strange dimensional travel.

Similarly, Erosion delivers a roguelike open world where each death advances time by ten years. Because of this, the world physically changes, and the mission to rescue a kidnapped daughter becomes more urgent with every attempt.

At the same time, Grave Seasons blends farming simulation with horror. Players spend an in-game week building relationships, farming, and investigating a possible murder. However, choices directly affect how events unfold.
Action, Comedy, and Unique Experiences

In contrast, Gungrave G.O.R.E: Blood Heat focuses on fast, stylish combat. It encourages aggressive play and rewards combos, parries, and executions with powerful attacks.

On the other hand, My Arms Are Longer Now leans into absurd comedy. Players control a long arm that must sneak and steal through a train carriage. The concept delivers humor through unpredictable gameplay.

Likewise, Way to the Woods offers a more emotional tone. Players guide a deer and fawn through a mysterious world while restoring lost light and interacting with ancient machines.
Valor Mortis Reimagines the Soulslike Formula

Finally, Valor Mortis from One More Level presents a first-person Soulslike set in a supernatural Napoleonic war. It combines melee combat with movement systems inspired by the studio’s work on the Ghostrunner series.
In addition, players face monsters, uncover conspiracies, and adapt to a war-torn world. The game also emphasizes precision and positioning in combat.
A Globally Diverse Showcase
Overall, Xbox’s Summer Game Fest: Play Days 2026 lineup highlights a strong global mix of developers. Studios from Kraków, Hangzhou, Melbourne, and Sacramento all contribute to the showcase.
As a result, the event offers a wide range of gameplay styles and creative directions. With hands-on demos running from June 6 to June 8, 2026 (MYT), Play Days 2026 gives an early look at Xbox’s upcoming portfolio ahead of the summer reveal season.
