Witchspire Is Now Available on Steam Early Access

Envar Games has launched Witchspire, its magical open-world co-op adventure, on Steam Early Access today. The game marks the debut original title from Envar Games, a new studio that formed under Envar, a co-development company with credits including League of Legends and Overwatch 2.

In Witchspire, players create their own spellcasting character, pick a coven, and team up with friends to fight back a corruption spreading across the game’s world. The Early Access version currently includes two biomes to explore, the Meadows and the Shuddersands, which can be traversed either on foot or by broomstick. Players can expect to encounter various creatures, uncover hidden secrets, and solve puzzles along the way.

Combat in the game makes use of wands, spellblades, and tomes, giving players a few different ways to approach fights and survival situations. One of the standout systems is the familiars mechanic, which lets players befriend over 30 creatures of varying rarities. These familiars can be leveled up and will assist players in combat, crafting, and resource gathering throughout the game.

Resource gathering also carries a magical twist. Players can call down ore comets or use empowered tools to clear forests quickly, putting those collected materials toward building and decorating their own base. A feature called Astral Projection lets players move freely while in build mode, making the construction process more flexible.

Character progression is handled through a customization system, a leveling structure, and a tech tree called the Luminaries system. Players also choose a coven at the start, which provides a specialized outfit and a passive ability boost, with more outfits available to collect and craft as they progress.
