Sucker Punch Productions plans to stick with developing one game at a time even after Ghost of Yotei launches, according to studio co-founder and head Brian Fleming. In an interview with VGC, Fleming explained why the PlayStation studio chooses to stay focused on single projects rather than expanding to work on multiple games at once.
“The truth is that whatever we do next, whether it’s continuing Ghost or going back to Sly, the decision is really more limited by, again, our cherishing of focus and time to iterate, which means that we really can only do one thing at a time,” Fleming said.

He noted that while juggling multiple projects might allow the studio to create remasters or fulfill fan requests, Sucker Punch isn’t built that way. “We only get to do one thing. So it kind of has to be your best idea, right?” Fleming explained. “And by the way, you only get to do one about every five years. So that choice is really important.”
The studio head compared the decision to major life choices, saying it’s like “choosing your college and your major every five years.”

With Sucker Punch’s 30th anniversary coming up in 2027, some fans hope to see the return of older franchises like Sly Cooper and InFamous. However, Fleming pointed out that the studio faces different expectations both from fans and within its own team.
“At 30 years, we now have employees who are kids of former employees. We have employees who weren’t born when the studio was founded,” he said. Fleming added that changing projects means some long-time employees may leave if they’re not interested in the new direction, such as moving away from historical settings.
