Singaporeans get to try their hand at Shining Maiden, a brand new waifu collector RPG gacha game available in early access. The game launched in the city-state two days ago, on January 4th 2020.
Developed by Korean studio Big Dipper, players experience a world that blends fantasy and sci-fi through the shoes of protagonist Ben. Recruit and raise over 60 beautiful Maidens who aid you through battles.
Check out this charming animated promotional video from the game’s YouTube channel. Towards the end of the video, a few in-game battles show a glimpse of how combat works.
Shining Maiden‘s story, according to the game’s official website, is as follows:
Ben and Erica grew up together in Bergen Village.
Because Ben had promised Erica that he would always be with her on her birthday, he infiltrates into St. Rosemary’s Girls’ School to keep his promise.
However, there was a sudden attack on the school by monsters. Ben bumps into the Valkyrie Maidens who came to fight off the monsters, and he gets caught.
Ben is on the verge of being punished for trespassing on a girl’s school. Thanks to the gracious principal who thinks high of Ben’s ability, he becomes the manager of Shining Valkyria instead of being punished.
In their first mission, Ben and the Shining Valkyria Maidens find a mysterious artifact in the forest.
And as Ben touches it, a strange girl’s voice resonates…
“My name is Norne. Please lead me to the right Line of Destiny.”
Thus, their long journey begins.
Currently, Shining Maiden only has an Android release. An iOS version will release sometime in the future. In the meantime, be sure to follow the game’s Facebook page to stay up-to-date with new events and developments.
