Square Enix has announced a collaboration between Final Fantasy VII Rebirth and Asahi Beer, centered around the beverage company’s Future Lemon Sour canned drink.
To kick off the promotion, a short video was released featuring Sephiroth as the face of the campaign. In it, the iconic villain interacts with the drink, with the video taking a moment to highlight the can’s signature floating lemon slice. Sephiroth is shown tasting the lemon and taking a sip, closing the video with a noticeably calm expression, a far cry from how the character is usually portrayed.
According to Famitsu, the collaboration between Asahi and Final Fantasy VII Rebirth comes a limited-time version of the drink called Future Lemon Sour Extra Strong, which bumps the alcohol content up to 7%. It launches on April 28, 2026. Fans in Japan will also get a physical experience tied to the promotion. A themed pop-up bar inspired by Seventh Heaven, the bar run by Tifa Lockhart in the game, will open at Roppongi Hills in Tokyo from April 29 through May 3, 2026.
On the gaming side, Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is currently available on PlayStation 5 and PC through Steam and the Epic Games Store. The game is also set to arrive on Nintendo Switch 2, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox on PC with Xbox Play Anywhere support on June 3, 2026.
