Capcom has released a brand-new free update for Resident Evil Requiem, introducing an intense extra mode titled “Leon Must Die Forever.”
The new mode focuses entirely on legendary Resident Evil protagonist Leon S. Kennedy, delivering a combat-heavy arcade-style experience built around replayability, stronger enemies, and increasingly difficult encounters.
The update is now available across PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store.
Leon Must Die Forever Unlocks After Finishing The Story

“Leon Must Die Forever” becomes accessible after players complete the main story campaign of Resident Evil Requiem.
Unlike the slower survival horror pacing found throughout the core game, this extra mode leans heavily into nonstop action gameplay. Players revisit familiar locations from the main campaign while fighting through tougher enemy variants and racing against the clock.
The mode features five escalating difficulty ranks, culminating in a final boss encounter designed to push players’ combat skills to the limit.
New Enhancer Abilities Add Replay Value

One of the major gameplay additions in “Leon Must Die Forever” is a new enhancement system exclusive to the mode.
By defeating enemies, players can fill an enhancement gauge that unlocks Leon’s unique “enhancer abilities.” These upgrades can dramatically alter combat strategies and survivability during each run.
Capcom also confirmed that the order of areas, progression flow, and enhancement options differ every time players start a new run, adding roguelike-inspired replayability to the experience.
The randomized structure is intended to encourage repeated attempts while allowing players to experiment with different builds and combat approaches.
PC DualSense Support Added

Alongside the new mode, Capcom has also implemented several technical improvements and fixes across all platforms.
PC players can now use full DualSense wireless controller functionality, including adaptive triggers, haptic feedback, and motion sensor support. Multiple unspecified bug fixes were also included in the update.
New Merchandise And Resident Evil amiibo Announced
Capcom additionally revealed a new line of “Leon Must Die Forever” merchandise, including t-shirts, hoodies, sweatshirts, and long-sleeve apparel available through Amazon.
The company also reminded fans that the first-ever Resident Evil amiibo figures are scheduled to launch on July 30, featuring both Grace Ashcroft and Leon S. Kennedy from Resident Evil Requiem.
Resident Evil Requiem Continues Expanding

Since launch, Resident Evil Requiem has continued receiving post-launch support from Capcom, and “Leon Must Die Forever” appears aimed directly at long-time fans looking for more action-focused content centered around Leon S. Kennedy.
With randomized progression, enhanced combat systems, and increasingly brutal enemy encounters, the new mode offers another reason for players to jump back into the survival horror title.
