PS5 Consoles Reportedly Carry Warning Labels About Upcoming Disc Shutdown

Sony has reportedly begun placing warning labels on PlayStation 5 consoles to inform buyers about its plan to stop physical disc games in the near future. The claim comes from an image shared on X by content creator Behind the Games, showing a sticker placed on a PlayStation 5 box. The sticker reportedly tells buyers that disc production will end in January 2028.

According to the alleged label, the message reads: “IMPORTANT NOTICE: From Jan. 2028, newly released games on PlayStation will be available for purchase on PlayStation Store and at retailers in digital format only. Discs for games released before Jan. 2028 can continue to be played on this console.”
