New JRPG Serial World Unveiled by Kakehashi Games

Kakehashi Games has partnered with the Japanese indie duo Serial Project to bring Serial World to players worldwide. The collaboration was officially revealed during the Future Games Show, highlighting the game as one of the most distinctive new JRPG titles on display.

Set to release in 2026, Serial World will launch exclusively on PC via Steam. Fans can already wishlist the game, ensuring they don’t miss updates as the project moves closer to its highly anticipated debut.

Explore Bricktown and Beyond

Serial World combines playful storytelling, exploration, and puzzle mechanics in a dreamlike, stylized world. Players take on the role of Milo, a young boy who explores colorful environments while teaming up with mysterious creatures called Anima.

Furthermore, players can wander through Bricktown, chat with locals, and unlock new areas before venturing into roguelike dungeons. Each dungeon run offers fresh opportunities to collect items, sharpen strategies, and prepare for the next loop.

Anima and Combat Strategy

In addition, Serial World introduces eight unique Anima, each with distinct strengths. Players can experiment with different team combinations to test tactics, whether it’s aggressive offense, defensive stalling, or clever sabotage. Moreover, the turn-based battles allow each Anima to learn personalized skills that can be mixed and matched to create endless strategies.

As fights intensify, their talismans gradually fill with energy. Once activated, these talismans trigger an evolution, expanding tactical options and keeping combat exciting throughout Milo’s journey.

A World Full of Characters and Secrets

Along the way, Milo will encounter quirky foes, friendly neighbors, merchants, and mysterious masters. From bouncing dragons to living donuts, the cast is as unusual as it is colorful. However, the world hides deeper mysteries. When Milo discovers a monstrous door near Bricktown, he steps into strange dungeons filled with fantastical creatures and looping challenges.

Each escape returns him to his bed, only for the cycle to begin again. Little by little, Bricktown begins to change, and as a result, Milo edges closer to uncovering the truth behind these surreal events.
