With Persona 5: The Phantom X just recently launched in Southeast Asia, players are diving into this exciting mobile spin-off and wondering which characters deserve a spot, and this is where our tier list comes in. The game hit iOS, Android, and PC platforms on July 3rd, bringing the beloved Persona experience to a whole new region after its successful run in mainland China, Hong Kong, Macau, Taiwan, and South Korea since April 2024.

This mobile JRPG introduces players to Wonder, a brand-new main character who finds himself in a world without hope after waking from a troubling dream. Alongside mysterious companions like Lufel the eloquent owl, a long-nosed man, and a woman in blue, Wonder must balance everyday life with dangerous adventures in the Metaverse to stop an approaching disaster.

Whether you’re a longtime Persona fan or new to the series, understanding which characters perform best in combat can make or break your experience. The game keeps the classic turn-based battle system and Metaverse exploration that made the original Persona 5 so popular, but with fresh faces and mobile-friendly tweaks.

• S Tier – These characters are some of the best in the game, and generally excel at fulfilling their role in most scenarios and are highly recommended to build.
• A Tier – Excellent batch of characters, only falling slightly behind the S-tier units, and can play well in most content.
• B Tier – Still worth the investment and can be pretty solid in certain teams or circumstances.
• C Tier – Situational. May not be worth the investment due to limited usage.
• D Tier – Very situational. Not recommended unless under a specific scenario.
