The Pokemon Company and developer The Pokemon Works have announced that Pokemon Champions will be available on iOS via the App Store and Android via Google Play starting June 17. The game is free to play. Pokemon Champions originally launched on Nintendo Switch back on April 8, and the mobile release will bring cross-platform play between Switch and mobile devices, so players can battle each other regardless of which platform they are on.

For those unfamiliar with the game, Pokemon Champions is a battle-focused title where players can go up against Trainers from all over the world. It features Ranked Battles for competitive players looking for serious matches, Casual Battles for a more laid-back experience, and Private Battles for playing with friends and family. Players who have never touched a Pokemon game before can still find Pokemon to use in the game, and those who have can link their Pokemon HOME account to bring over Pokemon they have previously caught.

To mark the mobile launch, The Pokemon Company is running a limited-time event from June 17 to September 2. During this period, players on both mobile and Switch can get Raichu, Raichunite X, and Raichunite Y by checking their in-game mailbox. Raichu will also be obtainable through other in-game methods, while the two Mega Stones will be made available through the in-game shop or other features at a later date.
