Remedy Entertainment has confirmed that CONTROL Resonant, the sequel to the 2019 supernatural action game CONTROL, will launch on September 24, 2026. The announcement came alongside a new Story Trailer during the recent State of Play. The game will be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC, and Mac. Pre-orders are now open, and players who pick up the PlayStation 5 Digital Deluxe Edition will get 48 hours of early access before the general release.
The sequel shifts the story to Manhattan, which has been twisted by paranatural forces. The city’s layout has become impossible, realities are shifting, and monstrous entities tied to a new kind of resonance now roam its streets. This new threat is at the heart of what Remedy is calling a “resonance,” which gives the game its title.
Dylan Faden is the sole playable character this time around. Fans of the first game will remember him as a very different figure. When CONTROL began, Dylan was a warped being on the verge of destroying reality. Dylan’s history with the FBC goes back to childhood. He was taken in by the Bureau at a young age and raised inside an institution under their control. It ended in tragedy, with lives lost and Dylan eventually contained. Years later, the Hiss tore through the Oldest House and took hold of him, triggering what became the FBC’s worst paranatural disaster on record, with hundreds of casualties. Jesse stopped it, freeing Dylan from the Hiss, but he was left in a coma for years afterward.
Jesse is not absent from the game. Remedy has been deliberate about keeping details of her role under wraps, but she is confirmed to have a presence in CONTROL Resonant. The studio notes that the Faden siblings’ arcs are tied to each other, and that dynamic continues here. Dylan moves the story, but Jesse still shapes the path.
