Cygames and CyDesignation have officially launched Granblue Fantasy on Steam, marking the beloved JRPG’s first appearance on the platform. The release went live on March 10, 2026 the same day the game celebrates its twelfth anniversary.
The Steam version is open to players outside of Japan. Those inside Japan will not have access to this version. The game is available in English and Japanese. One important thing to note: existing accounts from other platforms cannot be used or transferred to the Steam version. Players starting on Steam will be starting fresh.

Granblue Fantasy originally launched in Japan in 2014 for mobile devices and web browsers. The game is a turn-based RPG set in a world of floating islands and skyfarers, featuring elemental combat, over 70 playable classes, and a wide range of characters, each with their own individual story content called fate episodes. Battles include chain burst attacks, cinematic charge moves, and summons, and players can tackle content solo or team up with others through real-time co-op raids.
The Steam version also brings a notable visual change: for the first time, the game runs in a 16:9 widescreen layout. The original game was built around a vertical interface for its mobile and browser platforms, including Mobage, GREE, DMM, and Yahoo!, so this represents a significant redesign for the Steam release.

To celebrate the release, Cygames is running a giveaway on social media from 5 p.m. March 10 to 5 p.m. March 24, 2026 (JST). Prizes include a Steam Deck OLED 1TB for one winner, and an Acrylic Keychain Set featuring characters Wilnas, Wamdus, Galleon, Ewiyar, Lu Woh, and Fediel for ten winners. To enter, follow the official Cygames English X account, then like and repost the giveaway post from that account before the entry period closes.
