Cygames has announced that Granblue Fantasy, its free-to-play RPG, will be launching on Steam on March 10, 2026, at 5 PM JST. The game’s Steam page is already live and available for wishlisting ahead of the release. Players who want to jump in right away won’t have to wait long after the page goes live with preloading opens at 4 PM JST on the same day, one hour before launch.
One thing to keep in mind: existing accounts cannot be linked to the Steam version. A recent livestream mentioned that the team is looking into data transfer between versions, but no further details have been shared on that front.

Originally launched in 2014 as a browser-based RPG, Granblue Fantasy is built around turn-based combat where players manage character classes, weapons, and summons in battle. The story starts with the Captain and their winged companion Vyrn, living in a town called Zinkenstill. Things take a sharp turn when an Erste Empire airship shows up. After stepping in to rescue Lyria and an imperial knight named Katalina from the Empire, the Captain takes a fatal blow.

Lyria saves them by merging her soul with theirs, which in turn awakens her power to summon primal beasts including one called Proto-Bahamut. From there, the group sets out on a journey toward a legendary island known as Estalucia.
