SEGA and developer Lizardcube have announced that Goro Majima, the infamous “Mad Dog of Shimano” from the Yakuza / Like a Dragon series, will make a guest appearance in SHINOBI: Art of Vengeance as the final boss in the upcoming SEGA Villains Stage downloadable content. The addition marks the final piece of crossover content included in the game’s Deluxe Edition, bringing one of SEGA’s most beloved anti-heroes into the world of side-scrolling ninja combat.
The reveal follows earlier confirmations that Dr. Eggman from Sonic the Hedgehog and Death Adder from Golden Axe would also feature as villains within the DLC. Majima’s inclusion completes the line-up, promising a chaotic and unpredictable encounter that captures his distinct combat style and unhinged personality.
Crossing Worlds of Chaos and Steel

Although gameplay details remain limited, SEGA has teased that players will face Majima in a uniquely designed arena inspired by his flamboyant energy and street-brawler origins. His iconic dagger and breakneck fighting techniques are expected to blend seamlessly with SHINOBI: Art of Vengeance’s stylish 2D action mechanics, offering a boss battle unlike any other in the game. For fans of the Like a Dragon series, seeing the “Mad Dog” turn his blade against a classic ninja protagonist is a crossover that feels both absurd and thrilling in equal measure.
Lizardcube’s art direction also promises to bring a striking reinterpretation of Majima’s look, combining hand-drawn animation with the team’s signature flair for detail. If previous stages are any indication, players can expect a challenging encounter filled with callbacks to SEGA’s rich arcade heritage.
Release Window and Availability

The SEGA Villains Stage DLC is due to launch in early 2026, serving as a post-release expansion for SHINOBI: Art of Vengeance. The game itself is currently available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam. For long-time SEGA fans, this crossover stands as a celebration of the publisher’s history—uniting icons from across decades under one banner of stylish, nostalgic action.
