Double Fine Productions, together with Xbox Game Studios, announced Kiln, a team-based multiplayer pottery party brawler coming this spring to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam and the Microsoft Store. Players can also access it through Game Pass. Closed beta sign-ups are open now for those eager to get an early taste of the game.
Creativity Meets Combat

Kiln blends crafting and chaos in a unique “pottery power-fantasy.” Players sculpt ceramic creations on a pottery wheel, which then become their characters in vibrant multiplayer arenas. The shape and size of each pot directly influence combat attributes and playstyle. For instance, a tall jug may provide strength, while a small cup allows agility. This system encourages experimentation as players test which designs work best in battle.
Teams must work together to break enemy lines and extinguish the flames of opposing kilns. As pots shatter across the arena, players must adapt quickly to the evolving battlefield.
Explore The Wedge

After intense matches, players can visit The Wedge, a practice space to improve pottery skills. Here, they can craft, decorate, and customize pots, giving each creation a personal touch. Players can also share their designs with friends, inspiring creativity and friendly competition. By integrating this space, the game encourages both practice and community interaction, offering players a place to unwind between battles.
Immersive Pottery Mechanics

The gameplay emphasizes both strategy and imagination. Players manipulate clay using realistic physics, with multiple tools and techniques available to craft and decorate pots. Each creation affects how a player performs during battles, meaning success depends not only on brawling skills but also on careful planning and creative choices. Additionally, the game balances chaotic combat with strategic decision-making, giving players opportunities to experiment with new combinations and tactics.
A Multiplayer Experience Unlike Any Other

Kiln combines whimsical art, inventive gameplay, and fast-paced multiplayer action. The announcement trailer showcases its colorful arenas, unique combat mechanics, and creative freedom. Whether cooperating with friends or competing against them, players must balance teamwork and personal flair to claim victory. With its blend of pottery, strategy, and chaos, Kiln promises to be one of the most imaginative multiplayer experiences of the spring.
